Until I read this, I had never realised that my beloved Agatha fills her stories with discussions of eugenics, discussions of children who murder, people who throw back their head and laugh, and murderers who kill themselves rather than face justice. Swigatha obviously knows and loves Agatha’s writing and draws such clever connections between the stories that, just like the best of Agatha’s work, was staring me in the face all along and I didn’t realise it. Any fan of the great woman’s writing should grab hold of this. It has sent me back to my Agatha bookcases to choose a story I thought I knew but am now looking at askance!
